FBAs and BIPs

Wondering what you all think about having to be part of Functional Behavior Assessment and Behavior Intervention Plans.  it seems that quite a few people are being asked to be part of this process.  Is it actually helping?  or, is it just paperwork that is produced in order to keep the state and the feds off our backs?

it seems that ny state has been cracking down on the development and implementation of these plans.  there are also other notices that go out to the family as well as documents that track the progress of the plan and urges the team to monitor and modify the plan as needed.  it's getting to be a serious process like IEPs
